Organizing Committee

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry (SBIC) and the local organizing committee, we are delighted to welcome you to the International Conference on Biological Inorganic Chemistry in July 2025 (ICBIC21). This conference will be hosted in the United States, and we are thrilled to bring ICBIC21 to the vibrant city of Long Beach, California. ICBIC21 will cover all aspects of the molecular roles of metal ions in chemical biology, human health and disease.

Over 800 researchers from around the world are expected to participate in this major scientific event. We anticipate more than 450 presentations (including plenaries, keynotes, invited talks, oral contributions, student/postdoc flash-talks, and award presentations). Sessions will be devoted to topics at the frontier of bioinorganic chemistry, including (but not limited to) issues related to the environment, sustainability, energy, catalysis, protein design, spectroscopic advances, human development and disease, therapeutics, and imaging sciences. We are confident that ICBIC21 with its engaging technical and social programs and accompanying poster sessions will be an exciting, thought-provoking and stimulating event that will provide an excellent opportunity for internationally acclaimed scientists and young researchers to exchange ideas and participate in lively discussions.

Long Beach, 20 minutes south of Los Angeles, known for its cultural diversity, culinary excellence, and world-class amenities, provides an ideal backdrop for our conference. Whether you are exploring the city beaches and aquarium, enjoying its vibrant arts scene, or indulging in its diverse culinary offerings, Long Beach offers something for everyone. We encourage you to take advantage of your time here to experience all that this remarkable city – and South California – has to offer.
